Lisa Lewis has been in the private practice of law, focusing primarily on Family Law issues, since her graduation from Creighton University Law School. She represents clients in divorce, modification, adoption and juvenile law cases, as well as working with clients in the estate planning and probate area. Lisa is a contract attorney with Sarpy County Juvenile Court, representing parents and juveniles as counsel or Guardian ad Litem. She also has a long time experience in Douglas County Juvenile Court.
She is a lifelong resident of the Omaha area. She has been active in numerous civic and religious organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League (past president); Jewish Senior and Family Services; Planned Parenthood of Omaha-Council Bluffs; Through the Eyes of the Child Court Initiative; Temple Israel Synagogue Board; Tuesday Musical Concert Series, among others.
She and her husband received the 2010 University of Nebraska Medical Center Community Pride in Neuroscience Award for their support of summer internship programs for high school students and teachers. The student program, which attracts applicants from across the State of Nebraska, is named in honor of their son, Travis B. Lewis, presently a resident physician in neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
